BE AWARE OF THE RISK - Always Put Safety First! Taking certain precautions, the possibility of injuries may be largely decreased.Be syre to abide by the following: · Never stunt or tumble unless a coach is present and has approved · Always practice in the presence of a coach · Always warm-up appropriately before cheering (practice and games) including stretching and jogging · Do not attempt a stunt that you do not know how to perform safely and that has not been cleared by the coach · Always use spotters when stunting · Never talk, laugh, or mess around when performing a stunt or learning a stunt · Only the coach and back spotter should talk during a stunt · The back spotter calls out everything during a stunt, including start, break, cradle, etc. · Report injuries to the coach as soon as they occur · Always wear shoes and clothing appropriate for cheerleading · Never wear jewelry of any kind of chew gum when cheering, including practice and games · Always have hair pulled back from your face and shoulders · Do not hesitate to ask for assistance or advice at any time · Never show-off · Take all activities seriously · Do not participate in cheerleading if you are sick · Do not attempt a stunt if you do not feel comfortable doing it · Please let a coach know if at any time you do not want to participate in a stunt |
